One of my favorite parts of being in Honduras has been getting to spend time in the schools.
We’ve had the opportunity to go to a mix of bilingual schools and village schools, some with more resources, some with very little, but no matter where we go, one thing stays the same: Jesus is shared so openly and beautifully.
Schools here look really different than what I’m used to. The kids are so curious and so engaged, and they genuinely love being there. And I think part of that is because not every child has the opportunity to go to school. It’s not guaranteed here, which makes it feel like such a gift to them. You can see it in the way they show up. We also get to teach at Catracho on Saturdays, which has been such a highlight. We teach English, Bible, and soccer, and it’s honestly just so much fun. The kids bring so much energy and joy, and they’re always ready to learn and be a part of whatever we’re doing. But more than anything, what stands out is their hope. These kids rely on the hope of Jesus in a way that’s really humbling to witness. It’s not just something they hear about; it’s something they hold onto. And getting to be even a small part of that, getting to teach them, laugh with them, and remind them of that truth, has been really special. Honduras has shown me a different side of education but also a deeper understanding of joy, gratitude, and faith.
