This week felt like such a gift full of little surprises, fun moments, and a chance to rest before jumping into our first week of domestic missions in North Carolina. It’s crazy to think training camp is already over, but I’m so thankful for how it ended.

We kicked things off with a Beauty for Ashes event, which is a women’s ministry we’ll actually get to bring to every country on the Race. It was so powerful. Sitting in a room full of women being vulnerable, sharing testimonies, and just cheering each other on it reminded me how much freedom there is when we stop pretending and just let God work through our stories.

Tuesday was way less deep but just as memorable we had a big Walmart run. Imagine 30+ young adults roaming the aisles and buying the most random stuff. And yes, a rotisserie chicken somehow made its way into the cart. Don’t ask me why, but it was hilarious.

Later in the week we hiked Mount Yonah with all 39 people in our squad. We camped overnight on the top of the mountain, cooked hot dogs over the fire, and laughed until way too late. It was such a sweet bonding experience one of those moments that already feels like it’ll stick with me for a long time. The next morning we woke up at 5:30 to make the climb down, and we hustled just in time to snag Chick-fil-A breakfast. Definitely worth the early wake-up.

Thursday night was Revival Night, and it might have been my favorite part of the week. The joy of the Lord was so evident there was jumping, dancing, singing, and just pure celebration. It reminded me that following Jesus is supposed to be full of joy. What a perfect way to close out training camp before heading into ministry.

And as if the week wasn’t already special enough, our Sabbath gave me the best surprise I got to see my mom and our dog, Brady! It was so good to hug her and spend a little time together before heading off again. Next stop is North Carolina for domestic missions! Can’t wait to share what God does there before we launch for Eswatini.
