One of the biggest things the Lord has been teaching me is how to actually receive love. Not just from Him, but from the people around me too. Our relationships with the AIM (Adventures in Missions) staff have meant more than I expected. They don’t just lead the ministry; they really care about us. They check in, pray over us, and notice things we don’t even say out loud. I didn’t realize how much I needed that until I was in it. It’s been such a simple but real picture of what it looks like to love people well. The same goes for our ministry hosts. Jackie, Junior, Fabby, Rocky, Lyoda, Lele, and Renne have welcomed us in so easily. It doesn’t feel like we’re guests; they make us feel like family. Whether it’s sharing meals, being in their spaces, or just sitting and talking, you can tell they genuinely love us. And that’s been really impactful. I think I’ve always been someone who likes to show up for others but not always the best at letting people show up for me. And this season has kind of flipped that. The Lord’s been showing me that it’s okay to be cared for. I don’t have to have it all together or always be the one giving. A lot of what I’ve learned here hasn’t come from big moments; it’s been through the people. Through conversations, laughter, being invited in, and just doing life together. And in all of it, I think the Lord’s just been reminding me that I’m not alone. That I’m seen, known, and cared for by Him and by the people He’s placed around me.
