This season taught me a lot about who I am and even more about who I’m not. Being in Malaysia stripped away so many of the things that used to define me. Routine, comfort, familiar roles, expectations. When all of that was gone, I was left with myself and the Lord, and there was really nowhere to hide. At first, that felt uncomfortable. But over time, it became one of the biggest gifts of this journey. I learned that my identity wasn’t rooted in what I did, how productive I was, or how well I performed. It was rooted in who God says I am. And that truth felt different when I was living far from home, out of my comfort zone, and completely dependent on Him. Growth didn’t always look exciting. Sometimes it looked like unlearning. Letting go. Sitting in stillness. Allowing God to gently point out areas where I had relied on myself instead of Him. It meant realizing that strength didn’t always look like pushing forward, sometimes it meant slowing down and trusting that God was still at work. This journey shaped me in quiet ways. It taught me confidence without striving, peace without control, and joy without circumstance. I became more secure in who I am in Christ and less shaken by everything else. I was still growing. Still learning. Still becoming. But I was deeply grateful for the way God formed me there because that kind of growth will last far beyond that season.
